How Canadian Residents can Obtain Their Outdoors Card

* Please note that the following information was obtained from the MNR website (http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/) *

Ontario Residents are required to obtain an Outdoors Card before they purchase fishing and hunting licenses. Canadian Residents from outside Ontario may obtain an Outdoors Card and purchase Ontario Resident fishing licenses instead of purchasing a non-resident fishing license.

If you have never had an Outdoors Card....

If you do not intend to fish or hunt immediately, tear out the Outdoors Card Application contained in this publication and follow the instructions on the next page. If you require additional blank applications, visit an MNR Office or call 1-800-387-7011.

If you will be fishing immediately or within four to six weeks, you may simply purchase a Temporary Outdoors Card (fishing) along with your one-year fishing license tag at any license issuer. This temporary card is valid for the calendar year.

If you are a hunter and wish to hunt immediately, you may purchase a Temporary Outdoors Card (Hunting/Fishing) at an MNR Office.

If you have previously been issued a three-year Outdoors Card and it has expired, you may renew....

By Telephone.... The easiest and quickest way to renew your Outdoors Card is by telephone. You may renew your card and purchase three-year fishing and small game hunting licenses over the telephone using a valid Visa or MasterCard by calling 1-800-288-1155. This is an automated system. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing.

By Mail.... Renewal packages are mailed to all cardholders prior to their card expiry date. If you did not receive a renewal package you may request one by calling 1-800-387-7011.

Or.... You may also renew your Outdoors Card by purchasing a Temporary Outdoors Card (see above).
